Dear parents, we know how much you dream of your child growing up into responsible individuals and having a positive contribution to the society. As your partner in providing Childcare in Keller, Texas, we will join you in polishing your little ones’ potential.
Here are some of the best practices we apply in incorporating responsibility in our learners at our Spanish Immersion Pre-School in Texas.
- Teach the sense of responsibility while they’re still young
As young as toddler age, responsibility can already be inculcated into your little one’s system. You’ll be having a hard time teaching them when they’re already teens. Your toddler can already start following instructions so it’s an ideal age to train them towards responsibility, even as early as picking up their toys. - Allow them to assist you
Sometimes, doing chores at home can be overwhelming, especially if you have little ones running around. Why not grab this time to impart a lesson on responsibility? Ask them to help you out. Children this age are naturally curious so they will want to do something with you. Let them help in any small way they can even if it will take time to finish the task. - Guide them to do things on their own
When your little one learns to handle things on their own, they’re already being responsible in a simple way. For instance, if your toddler will ask you for some snacks, guide him to where the fruits are so they can pick and eat it themselves. This way, they can learn to serve themselves. - Be their model on responsibility
Nothing beats a good example from their parents. When your children witness your sense of responsibility in the family, they will inherit this from you. Always include them in making choices and solutions in the family, and you’ll be glad how your modeling can be copied later on. - Set your expectations right
Remember to align your expectations with your child’s age and ability. For instance, when you instruct your toddler to pick up their toys, don’t expect that they will do so efficiently and perfectly. They’re not that quick but they’re able to follow your words. Praise them for it.
Outside your home, the closest place your son or daughter can learn responsibility is in their childcare centers such as the Caminito Spanish Immersion Private Preschool & Montessori. With our learning programs rooted in the Montessori system, your little one can develop independence and responsibility early on. We also endorse them to immersion activities where they can be in a fresh culture to embrace additional knowledge needed for their learning.
